Lvl. 2 Seasoned Veteran

Alright. Whew, I've had a week to catch my breath.

I wanna start off by saying thanks for all the positive response to our final Entry of Season 2. It really made the horrible nightmare that was editing it and getting it rendered all worthwhile. I want to apologize again for the two day delay on getting it uploaded. Vegas finally decided that it'd had enough of my multiple layers and ridiculous audio distortions and got back at me by being all "I WILL TAKE THIS NO MORE" and crashing every time I tried to render. I think I saw it give me the finger a few times before it did, too. What a little drama queen.

It was an incredibly stressful weekend, trying to fix the problem while also having to finish up my last theatre light board job ever for the school, not to mention having a few shifts at my pays-actual-money job too. I was about ready to just give up altogether, delete the internet from my computer, and live as a bearded hermit for the rest of my days. I think the fact that I'm incapable of growing a respectable beard is the only thing that kept me from going through with it.

Shooting the entry itself took a long time, easily beating what I said about #50 taking the longest in a few blog posts back. Luckily, it was an absolute joy to shoot. Jessica took an entire day to help, right before leaving for London to study abroad. That's a pretty high level of dedication for a little ole' web series. Unfortunately, I had to cut a fairly wordy scene between her and Jay as it didn't really flow with the rest very well and just added on to the already lengthy running time.

Maybe that's something that can be included on a Season 2 DVD? Speaking of which, we're starting work on the Season 2 DVD.

I can't give any details about what all is going to be on it since we're still planning everything out. But I can say with confidence that we're going to step up the quality significantly from the Season 1 DVD. We've read all the suggestions you folks made a while back, and will be trying to fulfill as many as we can.

All I know for sure right now is that I've been given the responsibility to personally put together the blooper reel this time. Possibly all the behind the scenes stuff too. There's a very fine line between the two with us, after all. I've been keeping a folder of all of our screw-ups on camera for just such an occasion. How will I pick which ones will be included on the DVD? I love them all like my children.

After I post this, I'm going to compile the Season 2 credits and have them up on my youtube channel by Wednesday. I ask that you please go watch it when I do. Everyone that helped out in front of and behind the camera deserve recognition for everything they did. The cast and crew were a bit bigger this season, so you won't just be seeing mine and Joseph's name for pretty much everything this time. Sorry. I know you're all torn up about that.

So that about brings us up to speed. No, wait, one more thing. Keep an eye on the youtube channel after the credits go up. We have something extra special and covered in cake frosting coming up there soon after. I think you will possibly enjoy it.
.
Hope all of you little wonderful bundles of smiles have a good Thanksgiving. Unless you don't live in the states. Then I guess have a good week of no national significance, nonetheless.

  1. You should release season two on a miniDV tape.

  2. Great news, but I have a question:

Can I buy both the season 1 & 2 DVDs being myself and currently living in Argentina? I know nothing about buying a DVD from a filmmaker who lives in the other side of the world, so I had to ask...

  3. Yes, you should be able to. Just be sure to select the international shipping option.

  5. I AM JIZZING SO HARD.

    Trumpets
    Credits
    Bloopers
    IT'S TOO MUCH BEAUTY

Hey also just an idea, why not post the bloopers and deleted stuff (even the stuff from the first season) as videos on THAC? That way everyone'd get to see them, and you don't have to let them go to waste for not going on the DVD.

  6. I was curious, is the first season's dvd still available to purchase?

  7. Mister Wagner, I gotta say, I love it when you post blog entries. :D

I look so forward to the Part 2 credits, and to the opportunity to spending more money on the next Wagner/Delage/Sutton/everyone else production.

  8. Really, really looking forward to the season two DVD - although I guess I'm in the minority here, but I thought that the commentary struck a nice balance between being informative about the production process and keeping the mystique intact (and being funny as hell).

Personally, I'd prefer not to have any real behind the scenes documentaries until season three, but I guess the people have spoken :)!

Oh God...why does it have to be so long until Wednesday?!!!

  9. I can't support anyone who rips off EverymanHybrid's idea. 0/5 stars

  10. Hey Anon. Yeah, the one that thinks Marble Hornets ripped off EMH.

Shut your trap and look at the dates of the first videos were made because you think anyone is ripping off anyone.

  11. Pretty sure that first Anonymous is a troll, so WHATEVS.

Anyway, super excited for the Season Two DVD. I sat my parents down a while back and made them watch the first season with me, so it'll be fun to go through the second in the same fashion.

Honestly, as long as there's a blooper reel, I'm so perfectly happy. The blooper real on the first season was sublime. That times four for season two, please.

And yeah, on the Season Three DVD we're *definitely* going to need a full breakdown of how everything was accomplished. Mainly so, you know, I can sleep at night, seeing the Operator deconstructed.

  12. I'm so psyched for the season 2 DVD. And also that you guys finished this. And also just that it's been running so long and it's become something of a household event to watch the newest Entry or Response. If the entirety of the creative portion of the internets were as dedicated as you I think that the bar would be raised pretty much out of this goddamned world.

:D Thank you again for your hard work and awesomeness!

  13. Troy, I know you have plenty of reasons to hate how entry #52 was delayed, but keep in mind you've made at least one person happy because I ended up watching it on Sunday morning, which was my birthday. \o/

So thanks for that, and keep up the great work!

  14. First off, congrats on finishing season two. It was awesome.

Second, I wanted to say something about the upcoming season three -- I know you know little about what will happen in S3, and can reveal less, but I have a concern: S1 was scary as hell. S2 was scary, but far less so -- probably because the Operator wasn't all that important. To be honest, you could have taken him out and the story wouldn't feel all that different. The story wasn't about Jay and Alex trying to figure out what's going on with this terrifying entity, it's about Jay figuring out that Alex was not a very nice guy. S2 wasn't a horror, it was a scary drama.

Don't get me wrong, I loved S2, and I'm looking forward to S3 regardless. But I will say that I hope the focus is brought back a little more towards the Operator and making him (it) terrifying, rather than using Tim and Alex as the focus of the season's unraveling mystery.

That is all. Good luck. :)

  16. I'm glad I was able to help last time with the DVD and telling you stuff that was on it [Due to you not actually HAVING your copy]
I know that you having your hands on it more will mean the.... mistakes that happened last time wont happen again.

I can't wait for the DVD. It can go with MH 1 :P

Note: Keep the tapes in the box screen selection. I loved that little detail.

  17. Don't put them in a box though, put them in a safe.

  18. What happened to posting the credits by Wednesday?

  19. I second We Are Cake, take what he/she said and season 3 will be the best yet!

  20. What about season 2 box art? Can you give us any info on that yet? I think it would be cool to see Tim's mask on the box or one of the discs etc. I'd love to see something pretty eye catching used this time. Something creepy/disturbing.

  21. The X does Y shorts better be on disc 2.

  22. Thanks for continuing to update Jay's twitter, it really helps to keep me immersed during the break. Except for the link to the DVD website. LOL
